CeTI
Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop
Building on the findings of the first funding phase, CeTI² is researching a wide range of application areas to enable new approaches to communication between humans and machines – including immersive forms of remote collaboration, sensory augmentation in elderly care, support for workers through AI-driven systems, and reduction of travel through advanced telepresence technologies.
To achieve these ambitious goals, CeTI² combines cutting-edge research from engineering, computer science, medicine, neuroscience, psychology, and other fields. This close interdisciplinary collaboration not only encompasses technological and cognitive aspects, but also addresses legal, ethical, and social dimensions. In addition, CeTI also sees itself as a social actor: over 600 schools are to be reached in the second funding phase, with the aim of getting young people excited about STEM subjects at an early age. In this way, CeTI is contributing to a secure, technologically sovereign, and human-centered digital future, promoting young talent, strengthening university and industry partnerships through intensive collaboration, and thus promoting Germany as a whole as a center of science and innovation.
